A Short Introduction

Hi there, my name is Jim.  I'm a member of the Mind's Eye Society.  In the Werewolf the Apocalypse game put on by the MES I play a Bone Gnawer Theurge by the name of Buddy.  For those of you who don't know, Werewolf the Apocalypse is a roleplaying game that was originally published by White Wolf Publishing in 1992.  LARP stands for live action roleplay.

In the World of Darkness, which is the larger campaign setting of which Werewolf the Apocalypse is a part of, werewolves are the warriors of the Gaia, the spirit of the earth who created most of the life on earth as well as the Wyrm, the Weaver, and the Wyld, the three major forces which control the universe.  There are five auspices, or moon signs, which garou (werewolves) are born under.  Each of the five signs has a different task they are born to do.  The Ahrouns of the full moon are the fighters.  The Galliards of the Gibbous moon are the historians and singers of tales.  The Philodox of the half moon are the judges and mediators.  The Ragabashes of the new moon are the trickers, pranksters, scouts and spies.  The Theurges of the crescent moon are healers, shamans, and the voice to and from the spirits.  In military terms, a theurge would be a cross between a chaplain and a medic.

There are lots of different tribes within the garou, heck there are even different changing breeds (werebears, werecats, wereravens, wereboars, werelizards, etc.) but since this is about my character, I'm just going to explain what a Bone Gnawer is.  Bone Gnawers are werewolves that live among and administer to the outcasts and those who are underserved, particularly the poor, the homeless, and the mentally ill, as well as the spirits who are overlooked or looked down upon (rat, trash heap, hyena, jackal, the american dream, etc.).  My character takes it a step beyond that and also serves ghosts who need help crossing over to the other side, especially those of werewolves and our relatives (referred to as kinfolk).

I'm planning to use this blog to record what's going on with my character.  It will be a record of his daily life as well as significant events that happen to him.  There will be a sections both written as the character and written out of character.  Thanks for showing up and I hope you enjoy the ride.
